Online A Reflection

I think that technology is important because it shows you all of the different things that are happening in this world and technology can help you through it. Technology has changed dramatically over the last just five years! And imagine from what it changed in the last five years to what it is going to do in the next five! I mainly just use Microsoft word and the internet for school work like essays and projects. For my personal use I only use the internet to socialize and play games online. I think that the tools I learned in this class i will be able to use for a long time, like the widgets/gadgets, those will help me on school projects and other fun things. One of the things that i don't think i will ever use again I would have to say is posting stuff on my blog. One of my favorite things to create in this class was making the volki. I liked this because I could make it however I wanted and I could even add my own voice into it. But my least favorite having to record things with the microphone, i felt as if embarrassed the whole time I was doing it.

I did not like learning about dance music and the culture this way it was hard to understand without me being able to go back and read the words. Some people like the podcast because it helps them read books while running or like in the car they can listen to a book without having to read it. I think that depending on the podcast it depends on if it is more opinionated or if it is more relate able.

Samsung Galaxy S IV

In march there is supposed to be a new raveling of the next Samsung galaxy( Samsung Galaxy S IV) in this article it speaks about all of the new special features coming out with it and all of the details about this new phone. This event will happen in New York on march 14th at 7 p.m

Blabberize VS Voki

I think that blabberize was allot easier to use then voki because there were simple steps but voki let you get into more detail with the character. I personally like Blabberisze way better then Voki because of the simple steps. I would defiantly use Blabberize again. I could use these two wonderful websites in power points and have them speak information about a slide

Two Kinds of Stupid

Two Kinds of Stupid was about a young kid that had this great thing going for him; good grades, he was even in for a scholarship. But what happened to all of that was he went to a party and took some pictures while he was there. Then he posted them online and everyone could see them. Some how the principle got the pictures and he signed an athletic agreement of some sort, and now he can no longer play sports and he got suspended. And all of this happened from him posting those pictures.

Tracking Teresa
 In this video it showed me how easy it was to track somebody down. Teresa gave out very little information but yet the video tracked her down all the way to where she lived and what school she went to. Teresa only gave out her e-mail and telephone number. I have put personal information out there and now i am going to take it down because i didnt know anybody could track me down that easily.now i have to remember to be more cautious when putting information on the internet.

Digital Footprints

I am proud to be almost invisible on Google. Its nice to know people cant creep on me by just looking up my name on Google. I am surprised to see that one of my pictures on Facebook has posted to Google. I have no shame on anything that I post. There is no shame in anything because there is nothing on my profile to where people can contact me personally. I hope that I can keep my self invisible online.

Cyber bullying

The information that we saw online, and with the video Cyberbully is that they both deal with Bullying online. What people don't realize is that they are actually hurting people. Words hurt and people don't notice how much they are hurting people. Thousands of people have committed suicide over bullying online. Nowadays the suicides are becoming younger and younger due to kids wanting to grow up faster.

Netiquette is like manners for the internet.Having bad netiquette does effect everybody! Good netiquette would be telling somebody if they made a mistake to tell them in private and off line so they don't take it in a bad or offensive way. Poor Netiquette would be commenting on somebody's post and saying the spelled something wrong or they made an error and humiliate them in front of their piers

Downloading Music

Downloading and Sharing Music off of the internet is illegal. Breaking this law, which is done often, you will have to pay many fee's plus you will have to pay the artist in who created the song a fine for stealing illegally. Although you are allowed to download the music and listen it off the computer. You are not allowed to copy it onto a CD-ROM and give it to friends. That is a Violation to Copyright law.

Copyright Case

This Huge Copyright battle between Warner Brothers and the half owner of Super man;Jerry Siegel. Jerry sued Warner Brothers for using the idea of Superman, even though they don't have the right to use it. Warner Bothers found a loop hole, the beat around the bush by using a new name and they put a new name on the inside cover of the comic they came up with. Warner Brothers ended up winning the case by settling with the half owner of Super man. And now Warner Brothers can proceed with there new movie coming out; Man of Steel.

Jamaica Glog

Jamaica Project

I think that my research project on Jamaica was horrible. I mean it was kinda okay but I personally think I could have done better. My favorite part about my project was learning about all the different places to go in  Jamaica. But the worst thing I thought was having to present in front of the class, lets just say I don't do very good talking to crowds. The one thing I thought was the most difficult thing to find was, figuring out what i was going to say about each slide instead of reading a whole bunch of text. The strong points in my presentation were that I kept eye contact with the audience. Weak points were that i would take long pauses in between slides because i was so nervous. Suggestions for Mrs. Fowler would be to not have us present to the class in the future.

Apple Maps Confusing you?

In this article on the link below informed me that Google maps on the new iphone5 has a glitch, giving you bad directions, buildings and landmarks are in the wrong spots. Apple needs to now make another update in order to fix this small glitch. Also people have been complaining that directions are not clear and are becoming confusing.
